Its central feature is a venting system which aims to produce faster, more even cooking results by recirculating the air in the microwave oven, somewhat like a convection oven. The unit also features sensor cooking for five food items, as well as for reheat and defrost (auto and manual). The recirculation of air enables a 1-lb. quick defrost mode, which helps in the preparation of meat and poultry from a frozen state. The turntable can be removed for larger dishes, while two wire oven racks are included for cooking multiple, smaller items. Unlike the PNM1871SMSS, which is available only in stainless steel but is otherwise nearly identical, it is available in black, white, and bisque (off-white), as well as stainless.
