The hype indicates you can brew two mugs simultaneously. In practice, it does not fill them equally, thus posing an overflow hazard.

Flip-up lid for access to water reservoir/coffee filter becomes covered with condensation (as most do). When you open the lid, all that condensation dribbles to the back and down to the counter and under the unit. Quite messy.

Carafe does not keep coffee hot very long, only about an hour.

#hamilton_beach_stay_or_go_coffee_maker I can't emphasize what a piece of junk this coffee pot is. The ONLY 'pro' i can say is that I got it at Wal Mart for $20!
1) The carafe dribbles and drips coffee when pouring, no matter how you try or what you do. Poor design.
2) You cannot remove the pot as there' s no stop valve to grab a cup in mid-brew.
3) The blue LED display is SOOO dim it cannot be seen very well, even in a darkened room!
4) Despite recommended and frequent cleanings, the machine SHUTS OFF in mid-brew (several times) requiring the on/off button be pressed (sometimes as much as 4 times in a 12 cup brew).
5) The pot does not keep coffee hot very long.
This is one of the worst coffee makers I've EVER had the misfortune of purchasing or owning. it is a PIECE OF JUNK. Oh yea, if you call Hamilton Beach you'll sit on HOLD for 30+ minutes and still not get the problem(s) resolved. If you are considering purchase of one of these, DO NOT DO IT! Spend the extra $$$ and get yourselt a Keurig!

#hamilton_beach_stay_or_go_coffee_maker I thought maybe I should finally buy an expensive coffee pot. The first thing was a month after having it the carafe leaked so bad when pouring. I overlooked it, but now after owning it 5 months it barely brews. It actually turns itself off before it finishes brewing. I have done vinegar, CLR we use water filters, it is obviously just a piece of junk!

#hamilton_beach_stay_or_go_coffee_maker We bought this one because we figured it was a respectable brand, and it had some features we liked. Unfortunately, the execution is not as good as the hype. The carafe is one of the worst we have experienced: It dribbles horribly, coffee does not stay hot, and it pours really slowly. Slow + dribbles = more coffee on your table and lap than in the cup! The supplied mugs are decent, but not spectacular, and brewing into them presents a number of issues. First off, the mugs just sit precariously on the tray, there is no retention mechanism. Second, the unit does not brew into them at an equal rate - i am sure you can see where I am going with that one. In the end, the faults far outweigh the pros. A dribbly, poorly insulated carafe is simply inexcusable. On a scale from 1-10 I would rate this a 2.
