It is an ENERGY STAR qualified dishwasher - meaning it will save the consumer money and help contribute towards the environment by using a significantly smaller amount of energy than traditional, non ENERGY STAR appliances. The outside design of the washer is standard for dishwashers and isn't anything special but the upper rack is adjustable which is great for larger loads or oversized items. To help save on the utility bills the Kenmore 1318 uses a Quick Rinse Cycle which allows the consumer to run smaller and more efficient loads when they don't have a lot of dishes to do. All of the features are managed by the SmartWash feature which figures out the right amount of time, energy and water that is needed on each individual load.
