Krups XP4030

$150.00 Released January, 2006

Product Shot 1 The Pros:Affordable. Removable drip tray and water tank. Easy-to-use dial.

The Cons:Takes a while to heat up. Rather basic.

The Krups XP4030 is a pump expresso machine that is more affordable than restaurant quality expresso machines. It is a 1200 watt machine with a 15 bar pump. It includes the standard Thermoblock heating element to control the temperature and pressure and has a removable stainless steel drip train.

The 32 oz water tank is removable for easy cleaning. The metal dial that controls the machine is large and claims to make an easy transation between brewing espresso to milk frothing. It comes with a steam nozzle and a filter holder that has 3 interchangeable pre-measured inserts that are listed to hold a single, double or E.S.E pod. On the whole, the Krups XP4030 is a basic example of what you can get for a less expensive price.

Anonymous: #krups_xp4030 Totally disappointing! Beyond it's general poor design. KRUPS chose to utilize a "PPP" plastic water reservoir that has for the entire period I have owned this machine 2+ years given off an unpleasant plastic smell, and the water if left in the reservoir even overnight. picks up a bitter chemical taste. Contacted with this problem KRUPS gave me the "bums rush" and refused to acknowledge the problem. There are far better espresso machines in this price range and my suggestion is to look around first, (I have a Briel more expensive and a Wellhome much less expensive, both make superior espresso). I certainly expected better from KRUPS! Dec 24, 11
