LG LWHD1006R

$220.00 Released January, 2009

Product Shot 1 The Pros:Operations noise is surprisingly quiet considering the power handling - many 10,000 BTU units are prone loud vibration/rattling sounds. Sufficiently cools multiple rooms across a common floor - especially effective larger (~500 sq. foot) single-room applications. "Dry" mode is excellent for humid environments - helps to hydrate the area like a humidifier while continuing to supply cool air.

The Cons:Not conducive to sill-free windows - window sleeve, bi-folds and sides are engineered specifically for ledged spaces. User manual/installation instructions are very confusing - directions are bizarrely worded and unclear in general. "Drain Pipe" system is not conducive to high-rise apartment applications - releases excess water freely and without warning.

The LG LWHD1006R is an extremely affordable and lightweight window air-conditioner that weighs only 67 pounds. A slight change from the L1006R, the LG LWHD1006R maintains a top-down (versus slide in/out) chassis with a slightly decreased DBA level of 52/58 (versus 51/55).
