The spring-loaded, self-locking collar of the bag ensures that no dust or particles will escape. Like the entire S7 line of vacuums, the 7280 Jazz has a 1200 watt Vortex motor, which helps to increase dust intake with its airflow. The two motor system of this vacuum also includes a 4,800 rpm motor for the brush (which is designed to fit into low-height areas). There is a motor protection indicator on the 7280 Jazz to let you know when either motor is getting overworked. The rotary dial of this vacuum allows you to control the amount of suction you want, from 200 to 1200 watts. This vacuum is a step up from the lower cost 7260 Cat & Dog in that instead of an Active Clean filter it has the Active HEPA filter, which conforms to the most stringent European filtration standards, and picks up/retains 99.99% of all particles, as well as odors. However, this vacuum lacks the higher cost 7580 Bolero model's electronic suction control, including an automatic setting that adjusts to the surface being cleaned for the best results. There is a model variation for the Miele S 7280 Jazz, the Salsa, which costs the same amount.
